A Personal Safety Guide for International Travelers
Edward Lee, CPP

Copyright 2000
International Standard Book Number: 0-9677832-0-8
Library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 00-110675

The purpose of this book is threefold. First, to dispel erroneous information concerning personal safety and security for those who must frequently travel abroad. Second, to caution the reader that the best advice for international travelers is to not assume anything, anticipate one's response to potentially hazardous situations and avoid being "a creature of habit." Third, to provide the reader with a "how-to" book which can be quickly and easily read before international business trips to reinforce the risk reduction information which is contained in the book.

The information contained in this publication is based upon experience. It represents the best available advice on how to reduce risks and concerns while traveling. In view of the unpredictable nature of crime and political violence, there can be no guarantee of trouble-free travel.

The reader is cautioned that a book applicable to worldwide travel cannot fully address all security questions for all countries, particularly where the threat is deemed to be high. Consequently, those who must travel to such countries are urged to seek security advice from a security professional with international experience prior to departure.
