He’s a well dressed man, wearing a suit, tie, Stacy Adam shoes, Stetson hat, and carrying his cane. He says hello to strangers, as he walks out the door. And if they will give him a minute, He’ll tell them a joke. He’s considered elderly, in his seventies. His hands has callouses, and his teeth are false. Over the years he has provided a home for his beautiful wife and twelve children.

He has never won a Nobel Prize. The most He’s received from others is a firm hand shake and a pat on the back. Some call him John. Some people call him Reverend Corbin. I call him Dad.

Dad is visiting with me today. We are sitting in the room we call the den. The sun shines brightly outside. The birds are singing. I am sitting at my desk near an open door. There are two french doors that provide plenty of sunlight. The room is filled with inspirational music that I enjoy each day.

Dad is sitting on the sofa, and we are remembering the past.
