Everything that ever happened to me in my life has been the result of education or volunteering. Of course, that isn’t literally true, but since so many of the good things I have experienced in my life, and so many of the people I have met, can be traced back to either volunteering or education, I can forgive myself a little exaggeration. I think about the events of my life as representing a decision tree with branches. Education or volunteering started each major new branch; they all started growing distinctly, but end up in a bramble of connections.
